Smart and savvy! Ranger is looking for a very experienced dog owner who thrives on a very structured daily routine. He is one smart cookie though; he does have some special needs in the home. He walks great on a leash and knows a ton of commands as well as our behavior training foundation. We’ll provide a demo. Ranger loves to get out and explore and is a great companion out on the trails.
Ranger is AKC certified as a Novice Trick dog and a Canine Good Citizen! He is an independent boy that loves toys. Ranger will need to keep up on his foundation training in the home. He can be a little sensitive with handling from strangers, so a little patience from new friends goes a long way. He is a silly guy that can be very affectionate with the person he bonds with. Due to this, he would do best in a home with a single person that has time to work with him.
I AM REALLY GOOD AT: being social when I am out and about in the world…but when I am home ready to settle down for the evening, I like to cuddle up with my favorite person. Just us.
I AM AT MY BEST WHEN: I have a confident leader who helps relieve me of the need to call all the shots. Structure and boundaries help me understand our partnership.
I DON’T REALLY LOVE: when my ears or paws are touched. I’m a really good boy at the groomer, and they help keep my toes and ears looking good…so don’t mess it up. You can pet me everywhere else…in fact, please do! I really love that part.
I NEED SOME HELP WITH: with my patience. I’m such a good boy, like the best…but I am so smart that I try to guess what is next and get ahead of the plan. Having a special person who helps me see the value in taking time will guide me to enjoy the journey.
WHAT I REALLY WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT ME: I have so many friends at CRCCS. Both dogs and people. I pretty much run this joint and everybody loves me! And I do have experience in a home. So my CRCCS team knows me very well. I have an active mind and body, and sooooo many toys. They keep me motivated and engaged. In my future home, I hope to have the same care and attention on my mental stimulation. Routines are great for me, because like I said, I like to know what is expected of me. I will be an amazing sidekick!!!
