Beating the odds. One animal at a time.

Max Anderson

Overall l walked away with a good impression of the staff, polite, professional and they seem to be willing to take on the problem dogs which is no small feat. I give them credit for what they are striving to do there.

Julia Miller

Don’t shop, adopt! They are a wonderful organization that helps dogs. Very caring and friendly people here. I found my Abby here. Also a great place to volunteer to walk the dogs.

Dominic Taylor

Staff is friendly and the dogs love going there. They have helped rehome dogs that are difficult to place matching the dogs needs with new owners.

Westly

LOYAL, WIGGLY AND ENGAGING
• Est. Birth: 2021
• Weight: 60 pounds

Westly is that joyful combination of a husky and pitbull. The fancy term is “Pitsky”, but we think this gentleman is much more than an estimated breed mix. He’s a gem! Westley is sweet, goofy, and incredibly affectionate. He loves snuggling just as much as he loves an outdoor adventure. He bonds closely with his people and has a huge heart. He’s also a strong, sensitive dog who needs an experienced owner comfortable managing a reactive dog. CRCCS saw a huge shift in Westley’s reactivity with hard work and commitment. Westly is a wonderful student! He loves to learn and please his handlers. Westly will thrive in a stable, patient home with no small animals and room to play and decompress.

I AM REALLY GOOD AT: playing and engaging with my people. Relationships are very important to me. When I feel safe and accepted, I get silly and show off my wiggles. I love a good lounge spot and my favorite chew to put my energy towards.

I AM AT MY BEST WHEN: I get daily exercise as well as quiet time to decompress. Routine and structure help me to build confidence and understand what is next.

I DON’T REALLY LOVE: meeting anxious people. I’m a sensitive guy so if you are nervous, it makes me nervous. I’m also not comfortable with unexpected, loud noises.

I NEED SOME HELP WITH: other animals. I have dog friends but I am selective on who I let into my friendship circle. Small fluffy creatures as well as livestock are too stimulating for me. Best for me to stick with humans and gentle dogs around my size.

WHAT I REALLY WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT ME: When I love, I love hard with unyielding loyalty. When you show me and treat me with respect I feel loved and part of the pack. I’m silly and goofy and love to be held. I’m really excitable and intelligent. I have the biggest heart and just want to love and be loved.

King

SMART, SMILEY AND RESILIANT
• Est. Birth: 2022
• Weight: 50

All bow to the King!

Here is a handsome, distinguished gentleman who just so happens to also be a “tripod”. King is a loyal and loving buddy who is looking for a new chapter full of new adventures. Like many German Shepherds, King thrives under structure and clear guidance. With proper introductions, King has done great with dogs and people. Don’t let his three legs fool you. He can keep up with the best of them. King enjoys hiking, playing and exploring.

King will do best in a home that understands large breeds, especially working breeds. German Shepherds are fantastic dogs, and King is no exception. And for those who have experience, you’ll attest to the joys of this particular breed. Smart, loyal, protective and agile. With structure and patience, King will be a perfect sidekick or addition to a family. He bonds deeply with his people and has also proven to do so with other dogs in the home. Let’s get this King his perfect kingdom!!!

I AM REALLY GOOD AT: bonding deeply with the people who make me feel safe.

I AM AT MY BEST WHEN: I have a ball and someone to play fetch with all day long. Well, maybe save a little time for cuddling.

I DON’T REALLY LOVE: chaos. Structure and routine help me understand my role. And proper introductions with other dogs. I have a lot of dog friends, I just like to go at my pace and they respect that.

I NEED SOME HELP WITH: remaining calm in stimulating environments and situations. I’m a german shepherd, it is my job to be a little vocal to share the good news. Yet I want to continue to work on my manners and have a patience handler who can help guide me.

WHAT I REALLY WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT ME: I am quite unique with my crinkle ear and spectacular ability to keep up with other dogs despite only having 3 legs. I’m a head turner who is looking for a deep relationship with my family/person.
