Beating the odds. One animal at a time.

Overall l walked away with a good impression of the staff, polite, professional and they seem to be willing to take on the problem dogs which is no small feat. I give them credit for what they are striving to do there.

Julia Miller

Don’t shop, adopt! They are a wonderful organization that helps dogs. Very caring and friendly people here. I found my Abby here. Also a great place to volunteer to walk the dogs.

Dominic Taylor

Staff is friendly and the dogs love going there. They have helped rehome dogs that are difficult to place matching the dogs needs with new owners.

Bug
Bug

Delightful, Jolly, and Charming
• Est. Birth: 2019
• Weight: 50 pounds

This distinguished gentleman got his name because he is the ultimate LoveBug. He is an Olympic cuddler and will slide into just about anyone’s lap if given the opportunity. Bug has experience living and hanging out with other dogs, but does require a proper introduction to ensure a good match. Whether it is a backyard bbq, an adventure in the hills or simply couch time, Bug is super content to be with his people doing just about anything. Bug relishes being outdoors, chilling in the sun and investigating interesting smells. He is gentle on leash and polite in his crate. Just the perfect little Bug!

I AM REALLY GOOD AT: Slapping wet kisses on my friends.
I AM AT MY BEST WHEN: I have a routine so I know what is happening next.
I DON’T REALLY LOVE: High energy little children. They can make me nervous so I usually retreat if they make me feel unsafe. Big kids are cool.
I NEED SOME HELP WITH: meeting dog friends. Energy really matters to me, so I want a leader who can understand when I need space, and when I am ready to greet politely.
WHAT I REALLY WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT ME: I have been bounced around a little bit over the past couple of years, and I would really like to settle into my forever home. I’ll hold the couch down, lick up all the crumbs, and brighten your day with my handsome smile. I just need a chance…I’m a really good boy.

Zena
Zena

Adventurous, Curious and Spunky
• Est. Birth: 2024
• Weight: 55 pounds

Zena is a young lady who is ready to be a part of a family. She has bounced around a bit and tolerates the transition, but would benefit from having structure and routine. She is whip smart and dives into opportunities head first. She has experience living with different types of dogs, and requires a proper introduction so our team can ensure the best match. Zena has a pretty big personality and would thrive in a home that can keep up with her education. She is a sponge, so confident leadership will set this gal up for success. Zena is crate trained, very cuddly and working on polite leashed walks.  As a young shepherd (mix), her brain is always buzzing. So easy to love, Zena bonds deeply with her people and relishes time with them. She has already learned so much while spending time at CRCCS. Zena will make a fantastic addition to a family or person’s life.

I AM REALLY GOOD AT: Cuddling up to my people after a day of adventure.
I AM AT MY BEST WHEN: My handler teaches me new skills and leads me to make good decisions.
I DON’T REALLY LOVE: Strangers and strange dogs rushing up on me. I’d like to be able to understand them at my pace.
I NEED SOME HELP WITH: Introductions to new people and dogs.
WHAT I REALLY WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT ME: I’m a shepherd (mix) and I got a lot of feelings. And I just want to express them immediately. But if we get to know each other, you’ll see I am a mushy gal who would prefer to look to you for leadership. I want to grow up to be a really good girl because everyone says I’m so pretty when they reach for me. It just makes me nervous sometimes.

Ella
Ella

Happy, Goofy, and Strong
• Est. Birth: 2021
• Weight: 50 pounds

Calling all Bull Terrier lovers! This one is a gem!!!

Ella is a fun ball of energy. She loves romping in the yard, playing with her toys and basking in the sunshine. Who could ask for much more? Like many bullies out there, she is a ham. Charming with determination and tenacity. Ella would prefer to be the only pet, as she can be quite the entertainer who commands a full audience without the need for supporting characters. Everything she does is to the max, so structure and routine is recommended to keep her focused and engaged. With a healthy dose of exercise, mental stimulation and plenty of chill time, Ella will slide right into the perfect family.

I AM REALLY GOOD AT:  playing with my deflated basketball…it’s my favorite.
I AM AT MY BEST WHEN: I get to be outside, playing and enjoying the sunshine.
I DON’T REALLY LOVE: being woken up abruptly or slapped on the stomach (even gently)
I NEED SOME HELP WITH: structure and boundaries. Some may say I am a stubborn breed, but I just know what I like and what I want. Having a family or person who can help me to be a good roommate will help us build a long lasting relationship.
WHAT I REALLY WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT ME:   I LOVE people and am the friendliest girl. I want to have an active family that will play with me and run with me in the hills. I want to explore and hope I can find someone to take me on adventures.
